From The Five Studies exhibition, these two pieces (see next post) have been inspired by the Spanish composer Enrique Granados, whose piano work is entitled "sketches" and specifically a work called The Evening Bell. There are two ideas of the bells in Spanish culture, one grand the other intimate. Grand bells are typically used for important announcements, while smaller bells are used for more rustic/domestic needs.
