Hong Cumming's Victoria St. in the age of steam
Hong Cumming matches her watercolour artistry with her interest in capturing Hamilton social history. The scene here is of Victoria Street that until 1964 saw steam trains crossing the town's main thoroughfare. It's Safe to Cross Now, from the exhibition, Street Stories shows traffic clearing, following the passing of a steam train. A slice of history with many stories told.
