More than 175 people turned out to the opening night of christmas in the gallery. Board Chair and Chief Executive, Dorothy Gilson outlined how ongoing art exhibitions enabled the Trust to raise funds for childrens' charities in the Waikato. She also welcomed on board Enlighten Designs as the Gallery sponsor. Freeman Ehu, Sales Executive from Enlighten Designs fully endorsed the value of their partnership with the Welcome Swallow Galley and presented the Volunteers' Choice Award to Sandra Barlow for her stunning watercolour, Misty Trees (see below). This Award includes a cheque for $250.

M.C. for the evening, Board member Clive Gilson drew attention to the SANDZ Gallery artists whose work formed part of the current exhibition. Clive also expressed high hopes that attendees would support the childrens' charitable causes by purchasing the outstanding art on display.
