At the Welcome Swallow we are intensely proud of the work that our artists show in our gallery. Even better when one of them is further recognized on the national stage. Watercolour New Zealand recently highlighted the accomplishment of Rebecca Dowman-Ngapo with this announcement in their Newsletter:

The Adam Portraiture Award is a biennial competition for painted portraits at The New Zealand Portrait Gallery. We are delighted to announce that a watercolour has been selected for the Adam Portraiture exhibition at the New Zealand Portrait Gallery. This hasn't happened for several years. Congratulations to Waikato member Rebecca Ngapo-Dowman.

Rebecca is a founder member of the Waikato Watercolourists whose exhibition runs in the gallery 14 Feb - 31st March. You can see several of Rebecca's compositions in this exhibition as well as in the gallery Permanent Collection.
