Grace Forbes was a fearless and dedicated volunteer. She was a wonderful storyteller and had experienced a very rich and interesting life. Grace was dedicated, cheerful, kind and resourceful and had a wonderfully friendly disposition.

Grace volunteered with Save the Children Waikato Branch for many years and received a Long Service Award from them. 

When the Waikato Branch retail gift shop closed Grace continued to volunteer with Achieving Change for Children Charitable Trust’s Welcome Swallow Gallery and Gifts and worked as a volunteer until late 2019 when she had to withdraw due to ill health.

Grace worked in the gift shop every Wednesday morning and spent her time engaging with customers, always promoting the gift shop to everyone she was in contact with. She loved the gallery and had a firm opinion on every exhibition.

Grace also helped with fundraising events and was always willing to go the extra mile helping and supporting where she could.

Grace will be missed by all of us at the Welcome Swallow.   She remains in our thoughts.
