This painting is a stunning, vibrant contemporary visual feast that captures Hillary and Tenzing after their successful conquest of Everest, 29th May 1953. A year ago, the portrait of June, Lady Hillary by gallery artist, Rebecca Dowman-Ngapo, adorned the gallery walls prior to its final location in the Hillary collection in the Auckland Museum.
