Our Times exhibition opens at the Welcome Swallow Gallery
Pacing the evening, exhibition sponsors, Montana Catering provided their signature cocktails, drinks and canapes experience at the latest Welcome Swallow gallery exhibition entitled, Our Times that was launched on the 5th August. A packed gallery enjoyed an inspirational display of 36 pieces of original art from ten talented artists who interpreted the curatorial brief with inimitable panache using a combination of media and styles.
Trust Chair and CEO, Dr. Dorothy Gilson opened the evening by welcoming all the artists and guests to the gallery, noting that the art on display, as with all previous exhibitions, had given the Trust the opportunity to recently fund several charities that support children in the Waikato who lead incredibly tough lives. Gallery manager, Clive Gilson introducing the curatorial brief, noted that each of the invited artists had independently taken a positive perspective on how 'our times' can be represented. On behalf of the artists, Martin Necas also reflected on how their independent work had created a coherent if not holistic experience that very much followed the art contribution of the Welcome Swallow gallery.
