Dorothy’s professional and governance experience includes the role of Executive Director of the Naomi Society in Canada and now Chair and Chief Executive of the Achieving Change for Children Charitable Trust (ACCCT). She maintains an interest in business and retail as part of her commitment to social enterprise organizations. Her Doctoral thesis on family violence fits with the strategic partnerships that have been developed between the  ACCCT and Women's Refuges in the Waikato
