The Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its 33rd exhibition in the form of a Winter Collection for 2024, on Monday 10th June till the end of August. All welcome to come and view the exhibition that is now open to the public! In this exhibition, our artists are intensely pre-occupied with capturing how they see New Zealand’s enduring natural assets.

Typically, the gallery requests submissions from artists that follow a tightly worded brief. In this way the gallery is able to present deep reflective commentary while contributing to the inventory of New Zealand art history.  However, in a collection such as this, each artist has the opportunity to bring their own subject matter, media and genre.

The binding element to the Winter Collection 2024 is the quality of the artistry that our patrons have enjoyed over the past 5 years since the gallery opened its doors. The Collection enables us to see what the artists themselves are interested in painting. In this way the sum of these compositions is greater than the parts. New artist to the gallery, Gaen adds to the exotic mix on display. We are also pleased to be exhibiting paintings from Aston Greathead whose work is represented by the Fine Art Society of New Zealand.
